The build phase builds artifacts.

The deploy phase deploys artifacts and resources.

The destroy phase deletes artifacts and resources.

The initialize phase fills in defaults and connects to the workspace.

The load phase loads configuration from disk and performs lightweight preprocessing (anything that can be done without network I/O).
